I am honored to share that I have been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc..
The Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. has long played a vital role in advancing the professional practice, education, and ethical standards of acupuncture in the Philippines. Being entrusted with a seat on its Board of Trustees is both a privilege and a responsibility—one that I accept with deep gratitude and a strong sense of commitment.
As a trustee, I look forward to contributing to initiatives that strengthen acupuncture education, support professional development, and promote evidence-based traditional Chinese medicine within the broader healthcare landscape. I am particularly committed to fostering academic rigor, encouraging responsible integration with conventional medicine, and supporting the next generation of Filipino acupuncture practitioners.
This appointment also reflects the collective work of colleagues, mentors, students, and institutions who have shared in the mission of elevating acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in the country. I am thankful for the trust placed in me by the Academy and its members.
I look forward to working closely with my fellow trustees and officers of the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. as we continue to serve the profession and the public with integrity, scholarship, and compassion.
Dr. Tan-Gatue is a Doctor of Medicine, Certified Medical Acupuncturist and a Certified Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, Section Head of the Section of Herbology at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center in Manila, and a member of the National Certification Committee on Traditional Chinese Medicine under the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care under the Department of Health. He was just recently appointed Associate Editor-in-Chief of the World Chinese Medicine Journal (Philippine Edition) and elected to the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc.
